iWeddingGift - Privacy Policy

Effective date: 13 July 2026 · Applies to the iWeddingGift mobile application (the “App”).

1) Overview

iWeddingGift helps you plan and estimate an appropriate wedding gift and keep related event notes. It is designed to be privacy-first: it does not create accounts, does not include analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, and does not collect or transmit your personal data to the developer. The information you enter stays on your device.

2) Data controller

Salvatore Boemia (the “Developer”), independent developer of the App, is the data controller for the limited processing described here. You can reach the Developer regarding this policy at salvatoreboemia.dev@gmail.com.

3) Data you enter (stored locally)

Content you create in the App - such as names or labels, event details, dates and gift amounts - is stored locally on your device (for example, in iOS user defaults). This data is not uploaded to the Developer and is not accessible to the Developer. If you enter another person’s details (for example, the name of a couple), you are responsible for doing so lawfully.

4) Calendar (optional)

If you use the “Add to Calendar” feature, the App uses Apple’s EventKit with your permission to create an event in your own calendar. The event details are written to your device/Apple Calendar; the Developer does not receive them. You can grant or revoke Calendar access at any time in iOS settings.

5) Permissions

Calendar access is requested only when you choose to add an event. The App does not require access to your contacts, camera, microphone or photos for its core functionality. Any permission you grant is used solely for the corresponding on-device feature.

6) Location

The App does not collect, use, or transmit your geographic location.

7) Analytics, advertising and tracking

None. The App contains no third-party analytics, no advertising networks and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and does not present App Tracking Transparency prompts.

8) Third parties

Aside from Apple (as App Store distributor and provider of the Calendar/EventKit framework used on your device), the App does not share data with third parties. Apple processes limited download and diagnostic information under Apple’s own privacy policy, independently of the Developer.

This website and the App’s product page may link to the App’s official Facebook page. If you follow such a link, Meta Platforms processes your data under its own privacy policy, over which the Developer has no control. Visiting these external pages is optional and is not required to use the App.

9) Legal bases (GDPR)

On-device processing relies on the performance of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and the Developer’s legitimate interest in providing a functional app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Optional Calendar access is based on the permission you grant through iOS, which you can withdraw at any time. No special-category data is intentionally processed; please avoid entering sensitive information.

10) Data retention

Your entries remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. Calendar events you create remain in your calendar until you remove them. The Developer holds no personal data on any server and performs no server-side retention.

11) Security

Because data stays on your device, its protection depends on your device security (passcode, encryption, system updates). Keep your device and operating system up to date.

12) Children

The App is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 16.

13) Your rights

Because the Developer does not hold your personal data, rights such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability can be exercised directly on your device (by editing or deleting your entries, and revoking permissions in iOS settings). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

14) International use

As no personal data is transmitted to the Developer, the App performs no international transfer of your personal data.

15) Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes are published on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

16) Contact

Questions about this policy can be directed to the Developer at salvatoreboemia.dev@gmail.com. See also the Terms & Conditions.
